Cecelia Salamone's caregiver manual addresses every side of caregiving one might encounter and much more. If only I'd had access to it when my daughter was born years ago with a birth defect. We may think we're handling a situation well but discover better alternatives later that would have eased the way. The support, guidance and resources she provides can help smooth the transition from our former way of life into that of caregiver. It's a wealth of information.

Cecelia wrote an in-depth, informative manual on how to be not only an effective caregiver, but also a Dear Loved One's Advocate. She lists valuable resources that can assist the caregiver. Cecelia also shares precious info on how the caregiver can also care for themselves while caring for another. Her personal stories are endearing! This manual is a great tool for both the inexperienced as well as experienced caregiver. Cared for my mother along with siblings until my mother passed in 2010.
The Caregiver’s Livingroom – A Blog by Donna Thomson
There are many manuals for caregivers on the market. But I have not seen one like Cecelia’s book. The author uses her own experiences as a reference and many lovely photos, but this book is about the reader and their caregiving experiences. There's an astonishing amount of detailed and sensitive advice from what to expect when roles reverse between parent and child, to the paperwork that will be required at various types of med appointments. Whether you are a caregiver for someone young, old, ill or infirm, this book will be helpful. An instant classic in the library of caregiver literature. I highly recommend it.

Over the past 25 years, with my wife's help, I have been the primary caregiver to my 99 year old mother. The information in this manual could have made our struggles easier. You should not have to learn as-you-go when it comes to your loved ones.

Caregivers will seek out this manual time after time for "how to", insight and courage. This is a comprehensive, thoughtful guide.

Cecelia Salamone nailed it with her title Designated Caregiver - Resource Manual for the Caregiver. It is filled to the brim with information a caregiver knows they need and which don't realize they need. This manual is very easy to navigate. It boosts the confidence of the reader and arms them with knowledge to assist with building a plan to assure the needs of a loved one are met. Excellent advice and thoughts to consider are woven through this book with a great deal of compassion. Cecelia addresses urgent situations inquiring forethought of the caregiver as well as those lonely, slow passing hours of time when everyone yearns for some semblance of normalcy. I highly recommend this work for current caregivers and everyone else.
